ITALY LOCKDOWN: find out what businesses will close and what will remain open

Updated: Mar 12, 2020

Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, signed a decree on the evening of Wednesday 11 March for the closure of shops, bars and restaurants from 12 March to 25 March (below the complete list). The movement of people will be limited to truly indispensable needs such as shopping and medicines. After the request from Lombardy, the government has therefore decided to tighten the provisions relating to the entire peninsula - which will remain the "protected area" - to contain the coronavirus epidemic (here the data updated to 11 March: 12,462 cases and 827 dead), which has now become, as specified by the World Health Organization, a pandemic.

- street markets

- bars, pubs, restaurants

- tobacconists

*all must enforce the interpersonal safety distance of one meter
